Rock On, It’s Friday!

Rock On, It’s Friday!

Well, now you know; I don’t plan blog posts far in advance. And it’s finally caught up with me.

As I came from dropping Child #1 off at a school event, I boogied home so I could crank out my Friday blog post. However, in my haste to exit my car while trying to hold wallet, phone and water bottle all in one hand, I haphazardly shut my car door and my pinkie wasn’t quite out of the car yet. Nothing like trying to extricate your own finger from the car door.

On the bright side, I am ready for a rock concert at a moment’s notice.

Soo..let’s just say this has been one of the most painful posts to write, literally. My left pinkie is throbbing like it has my entire body’s blood supply in it. Therefore, I will write no further and fill you in on what is happening over at Great New Books.

This month we’re reading Erika Robuck’s new novel, Hemingway’s Girl and we’re almost done! We already know next month’s book choice and  if you enter a comment in our discussion, you will be eligible to win a personalized autographed copy of our October book pick, Lydia Netzer’s Shine Shine Shine! Also, we will be holding our first ever Twitter Chat on Friday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. CST. Check out our Twitter Chat page to learn how!

What I’m reading now are Unbroken by Lauren Hillenbrand and The Unfinished Work of Elizabeth D. by Nichole Bernier. Unbroken is fascinating and Nichole’s book is so smart (smaht?) and is a soul-searcher kind of book. It has been good and bad for me as I self-reflect a tad too much while reading.

Have a great weekend and see you over at Great New Books!

Rock on,

Hallie

I’ve done the same thing before — so I know how painful it is. Ouch :( As for soul searching, I know that feeling well as I’m a soul searcher too. My wish for you is speedy healing, enlightened soul searching, and always rock concerts! :)
