I'm hallie! I'm so glad you're here.
I've been working at this life for over 40 years. The way I live now is VERY different than even just five years ago. It's taken a lot of hard knocks, disappointments and despair to turn this thing around. Since I started living, not existing, but really living, I've learned who I am and who I'm not. Who I want to be and who I want to spend time with. How I want to feel every day and what I want to do with this one precious life. What I know for sure is that I want to live life in a state of AWE. Awake. Well. Empowered.
So that is what you'll find here. I'm going to talk about things that will hopefully wake your ass up and start paying attention to how you're living your life. I'll share things that can help you get well for the rest of your days. And we are going to jam on empowerment because that is one of my favorite topics. Do those things light you up? Maybe you're ready to make some changes in your life. Maybe you just need to hear a story that will help you feel not so alone. I'm here for you.
I'm going to throw in some humor and probably a cuss word or 50 so if that isn't your thing, that's okay, too. It's just how I talk and I write how I speak, as if you were sitting with me on my back patio or on a walk with me. If you're still here, then thank you and welcome!
Here are some other details that you may be curious about. Let's just get them out of the way now. I'm a mom to three awesome kids--a girl (18 and senior in high school), a boy (15 and a freshman) and my baby boy is a 6th grader. I've been married to my college (Go Huskers!) sweetheart for 20 years and we live in the Kansas City area. We're a busy family with lots of sports, school activities, travel, and work.
This blog is basically a culmination of my favorite things. It's the stuff I can't stop talking about and what I'm super passionate about. You can't tell from my site but I began writing this blog many moons ago. My old posts are hanging out on a server somewhere until I figure out how to transfer them here. I'm debating on whether it's even worth the effort because so much has changed in the nine years I've been blogging. So what you see here is where all of that writing and discovery has brought me to.
My hope for you, dear reader, is that you arrive with an open mind and leave feeling better than when you came. My goal is to give you content that makes you feel enlightened, inspired, encouraged and/or empowered with some laughs sprinkled in. What you'll always get is authenticity and honesty because no one has time for fluff or bullshit.
I know there are so many other places you could be right now and because you chose to be right here, right now, I'm grateful. I look forward to getting to know you, too (you know that comment section is there for a reason, right?).
